How can I check an AI explanation when I am new to the subject?

Ask AI to define unfamiliar terms and explain the basic sequence, but do not make it your only source. Check important claims against a relevant primary document, a measurement, or someone who knows the subject. Ask what facts would change AI's explanation and note what you still cannot verify. You can begin learning without being an expert, as long as you know where your confidence ends.

When a subject is new, first ask for a short map of its terms, moving parts, and common points of confusion. Then inspect the source material that governs your actual question, such as a contract, platform documentation, report, or measured result. Ask AI to distinguish what the source states from what it is inferring.

You will not be able to catch every mistake at the beginning. Mark claims that matter to a decision and verify those before acting. If the stakes are high or the source is difficult to interpret, involve a qualified person rather than relying on a second confident AI explanation.
