SW Modules

Frequently Asked Questions - SW Sprocket Rocket Modules

These FAQs explain how Smithworks SW Modules work inside HubSpot, especially for Sprocket Rocket-style themes. Use them to choose the right module, understand common settings, and give AI agents better context before they start guessing.

How do I change the logo column width in the header?

In SW Header Simple, open Style → Logo Column Width. Leave Auto for the current logo size (asset width, half-header cap, 87px max-height). Choose Custom and set XL Width (80–800px). Override Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile if those sizes should differ. Custom shrinks the logo if the column is narrower than the image; it does not enlarge a small logo. On phones 480px and under, the compact icon still applies. Existing headers stay Auto until you choose Custom. Publish global header content after the theme update.

Why does my header have Outer and Inner background settings now?

From master 2026.08.21.19.18, SW Header Simple uses two background layers. Module Outer paints the header bar (default Theme Color, so existing bar colors stay). Module Inner paints the logo/menu row (default None). Video stays on the Outer bar only. Publish global header content after the theme update.

How do I add Glass, Grain, or Pattern to the header?

In SW Header Simple, open Style → Module Inner Background Options → Inner Effect, then choose Glass, Grain, or Pattern. That effect is on the content row, not a rim around the bar. Leave Inner fill on None if you only want the effect over a transparent row. Publish global header content after you change these fields.

Why did my header background photo disappear after a theme update?

After 2026.08.21.19.18, header images use a new Image field plus Background Size (Cover / Contain / Stretch / Natural). A saved photo from the old image type may not carry over. Re-select the file on Module Outer (bar) or Module Inner (content row) and set Background Size. Existing bar colors still map to Outer automatically.

How do I round the corners of a glass or rim column in SW Pillar Section?

After 2026.08.21.21.11, open SW Pillar Section → Style → Primary Column Settings, Secondary Content Column Settings, the Media column group, or Form Box Settings. Turn on Override … Border Radius and set Corner Radius (px).

That radius still applies when the background is Effect (glass or rim). Image Corner Radius and Video Corner Radius only round the photo or video, not the glass wrapper. Existing pages stay square until you turn Override on. With Override off, Effect columns use the theme Global Border Radius.

Why did I see a static wave for a moment on SW Cards Animated?

That was a cold-cache flash of the Wave artwork before the motion canvas was ready. After 2026.08.21.22.34, the published page keeps that artwork hidden and fades the animation in (about 200ms). Hard-refresh after your theme update.

The Design Manager editor still shows sliced ribbons because WebGL does not run there. Phones and reduced-motion visitors get a static cover of the same artwork, not a fade. There is no separate wave image file to turn off.

How do I set an exact pixel size for the SW Pillar Section image?

After 2026.08.22.09.21, open the secondary Image field and set HubSpot Size to Use exact width and height. The module displays those pixels on the page (for example type 350×350 for a cutout — 78×100 is really 78 CSS pixels). Automatically adjust still fills the media column.

With Image as Background on, Exact uses those pixels as the background size instead of covering the whole column. After 2026.08.22.12.24, use Background Position to place an Exact inline image in the media column (default Middle Center). If a breakpoint Override is off, Exact size and position use Extra Large. Hard-refresh published pages after your theme update.

How do I position an exact-size image in SW Pillar Section?

After 2026.08.22.12.24, set HubSpot Size to Use exact width and height, then use Extra Large Desktop Background Position (and Desktop/Tablet/Mobile when those image overrides are on). Default Middle Center parks the picture in the middle of the media column. Bottom Right parks it at the bottom-right of that column. Automatically adjust still fills the column. Image as Background still uses the same fields for crop. Hard-refresh published pages after your theme update.
