# SW Testimonials — AI Agent Reference

**Module name:** SW Testimonials  
**Use this document when:** The user asks about the **SW Testimonials** HubSpot module—stacked quotes, read more behavior, author rows, summary overrides, or style options.

## Instructions for the AI Agent

- **Unless the user explicitly provides you with direct HubSpot CLI access, assume you have no access to HubSpot.** Answer **only** from this document (and any other docs the user has provided).

## HubSpot video and file uploads (plans and limits)

This module can use a **video background** when **Style → Module Background Settings → Background Option** = **Video**. Source and poster live on **Content → Module Background Video**.

- **HubSpot Video:** May require Marketing Video features depending on tier.
- **Video from files:** File Manager uploads; typical per-file limits on lower tiers—compress or use **External embed** if needed.
- **External embed:** YouTube/Vimeo-style URLs.

## 1. Purpose and When to Use

**SW Testimonials** lists **one or more testimonials** in a vertical stack. Each row has:

- **Full quote** (rich text) — always stored; may be shown collapsed or expanded depending on length and settings.
- **Optional Summary override** (plain text) — when set, used in the collapsed view instead of an auto-truncated excerpt.
- **Author** — optional **Image**; **Name** (required); **Title**; **Company**.

**Read more:** When **Content → Read more labels → Enable read more** is **on** and the quote is long enough (or override differs from full plain text), visitors see a short excerpt and a **Read more** control. **Simple Link** style is a **plain text link appearance** (not a solid CTA button). When **Enable read more** is **off**, every testimonial is **fully expanded** always.

**Use for:** Social proof sections, client quotes, partner logos with quotes.

**When to choose another module:**

- **Cards with icons/images and multiple CTAs** → **SW Cards**.
- **Image beside long-form content with bullets** → **SW Pillar Section**.
- **Accordion of panels** → **SW Magic Accordion** or **SW Pillar Accordion**.

## 2. Default state (new instance)

- **Testimonials:** Four sample rows (mix of short/long and one **Summary override**).
- **Style → Testimonial content:** **Summary length** 200 characters; **Content style** **Large (text full-width)**.
- **Style → Module Background Settings:** **Theme Color** = **None** (transparent).
- **Style → Module Settings → Spacing:** Padding **50px** top/bottom, **25px** left/right.
- **Style → Author image:** Override border radius **on**, **9999** px (round avatars).
- **Read more:** **Enable read more** **on**; **Button style** **Primary** (unless changed).

## 3. Configuration Reference (summary)

**Content tab**

- **Enable Module**, **Custom ID**, **Custom Classes**
- **Testimonials** (repeater): **Testimonial Content Area** (rich text); **Summary override** (plain text; optional; length guidance in help—align with **Style → Testimonial content → Summary length**); **Image** (optional—if empty, **no photo** is shown); **Name**; **Title**; **Company**
- **Read more labels:** **Enable read more** (toggle); **Read more label** / **Read less label** (visible when enable is on)
- **Module Background Video** (when Style background = Video)

**Style tab**

- **Module Settings** — Spacing, max width, module height groups
- **Module Background Settings** — Theme color (includes **None**), custom, gradient, image, video
- **Content Colors** — Quote / content area text and link context
- **Testimonial content** — **Summary length (characters)**; **Content style** (applies to **all** testimonials: Default, Large balanced, Large full-width, Small, Blockquote)
- **Testimonial dividers** — Show dividers, colors, thickness, spacing
- **Author image** — Override border radius + corner radius (px)
- **Read more button** — Alignment; **Button style** (same set as **SW Button**: Primary … Gradient Two, Simple Link); **Button size** (for solid styles)

## 4. Common tasks

- **Always show full quotes** → Content → **Read more labels** → **Enable read more** = **off**.
- **Change excerpt length** → Style → **Testimonial content** → **Summary length** (when no summary override).
- **Custom collapsed text** → Content → row → **Summary override**.
- **Round vs theme-radius avatars** → Style → **Author image** → toggle **Override author image border radius** and set **Corner radius**.
- **Hide author photo** → Content → row → clear **Image** (no broken image icon).
- **Typography for all quotes** → Style → **Testimonial content** → **Content style**.
- **Read more looks like a text link** → Style → **Read more button** → **Simple Link**.
